Kiara Advani AKA Kabir Singh’s Bandi On Criticism, ‘It’s A Love-Story Between 2 Dysfunctional People'
Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani hit the big screens last year and, despite opening to mixed reviews and a lot of criticism, the film emerged as a blockbuster. As per a section of people on social media, Kabir Singh enforced misogyny, patriarchy and relationship abuse. Time and again, Shahid Kapoor has defended the film saying that doesn’t endorse any of Kabir Singh’s action; however, people like him do exist. Now, in a conversation with Mid Day, Kiara Advani AKA Kabir’s bandi has shared her two cents on the flak that her film received.

Kiara stated that went ahead with Preeti, despite knowing that it’s a flawed character. She further termed Kabir Singh as a love story between two dysfunctional people and that it mirrors brutal realities happening in the world. “I am an actor and am hence not always like the characters I play. This was a love story between two dysfunctional people, so, I didn’t judge it. I am glad that a dialogue ensued. We all can differentiate right from wrong. But the film mirrors brutal realities,” said the actress

Earlier, during a press interaction, Shahid Kapoor was quoted as saying, “I don't think we have justified anything in Kabir Singh. We have maintained since the beginning that he is a very violent and messed up character. But he has a heart. And, I think it's important to acknowledge the fact that we've all got both light and dark inside us, otherwise, films will become candy floss, the things that don't exist.”

Kabir Singh was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also helmed the original film titled Arjun Reddy and it starred Vijar Deverakonda in the lead role.
